Ledlenser Torches, Headlamps and Work Lights in South Africa

Ledlenser is German built and sits at the professional end of portable lighting. What you are paying for is beam quality, build and warranty rather than raw lumen numbers, since the Advanced Focus System produces an even flood or a genuinely usable spot instead of the ringed beam typical of cheaper lights. NeonSales carries 62 Ledlenser products, from R880 for a P5 up to R6,853 for a P18R Signature.

What Ledlenser products does NeonSales stock?

Torch, headlamp or lantern?

Type What it does well Best suited to
P Series torch Directed beam you aim by hand Property checks, walking, anything where you point light at something
Headlamp Light follows your eyeline, hands free Working on equipment, running cable, hiking, night fishing
Work light Broad even flood, often magnetic or stand mounted Lighting a workspace rather than a target
Lantern 360 degree ambient output Loadshedding, camping, lighting a room

What the R in the model name means

An R suffix indicates rechargeable, and it is the single most useful thing to know when comparing this range. A P7 takes cells while a P7R charges, usually magnetically. Rechargeable models cost more up front and remove the running cost entirely, which matters if the light gets daily use. Non-rechargeable models still make sense for something kept in a vehicle or a drawer for months at a time, since a stored battery holds charge better than a stored cell.

Core, Work or Signature?

These suffixes mark tiers within the same body. Core models are the standard specification and where most buyers should start. Work versions add features aimed at trade use, such as higher ingress protection, magnetic mounting or a UV mode for leak detection and inspection. Signature models sit at the top on output and materials. The difference between Core and Signature is real, though for most household use the Core version is the sensible spend.

Common questions

Are lumen numbers comparable across brands? Not reliably. Ledlenser figures are conservative and measured to a recognised standard, so a 1000 lumen Ledlenser will often outperform a cheaper light claiming considerably more. Beam quality and runtime at full output matter more than the headline number.

What is Advanced Focus System? It is the lens and reflector arrangement that lets you shift from flood to spot by twisting the head, without the dark ring most zoom torches produce.

Which headlamp for general use? The HF6R Core or MH5 cover most household and outdoor needs at sensible cost. Step up to H19R Core when you genuinely need long throw and extended runtime.

Is the UV model useful? Only for specific jobs. The P7R Work with UV is used for leak detection, currency and document checking, and inspection work. As a general torch you are paying for a mode you will rarely use.
