Gas Pistols

Gas Pistols

Gas guns are guns that shoot projectiles with the help of a powerplant. Unlike firearms that uses the pressurized force of exploded cordite to propell bullets, gas guns typically utilizes compressed Carbon Dioxide (CO2) in a threadless 12g capsule form, or highly compressed atmospheric , but seldom, if ever, refers to spring loaded BB guns. Although they utilize a small amount of compressed air rammed into the firing chamber, they are subcategorized as "airsoft", hence the sport they are typically utilized in.

We sell an assortment of gas guns resembling accurate replicas of their firearm counterparts chambered mostly in 4.5mm (.177) BB and/or pellet, as well as pcp pistols, with higher, more consistent performance, chambered in both 4.5mm (.177) and 5.5 (.22) (#1 and #2 pellet). Pistols that fire shot typically have smoothbore barrels, relying on "hop-up" (spin control) for accuracy, whereas pistols firing diabolo pellets typically have rifles barrels, for twist to be implied on the projectiles when fired, to stabilize the projectile.Β

CO2 pistols feature low running costs (for CO2 capsules and shot or pellet. They feature in options of Blowback and Non Blowback. Blowback implies that some of the expended gas used when the valve is opened, is used to actuate the slide, to create a realistic recoil feedback. Using these typically requires that one pays more attention to pistol gripping, in order to compensate for the recoil, to maintain target acquisition as well as continuous accuracy, to prevent the necessity for sight picture reset. These pistols are our premium range- they typically have a full metal design with sophisticated internal mechanisms to manage the entire shooting cycle. They are for our discerning customers who wishes for an experience as close as to that of an actual firearm, but without the same inherent dangers or operating costs involved.

Blowback pistols come primary in two variants:

Mechanical blowback, such as with the KWC blowback range w/ BB blowback, where the slide cycle is heavier, since it has to draw a BB from the magazine each time. These types will usually have a functional slide catch, since this will indicate that the magazine is empty. These are the most realistic of all BB guns. Continuously racking the slide with the gun held tilted forward, will cause the BBs to roll out of the muzzle.

Non-mechanical blowback, such as with the Sig Sauer ASP range (except the P226 X-FIVE), CZ P-09, GAMP PT85, PT-25 and related pellet blowback pistols. These tend to reach higher FPS since less gas is used to actuate the slide. Their recoil springs are much lighter as well, since the slides do not draw up a pellet into the chamber. The trigger in this case, as with the Non-blowback revolver, rotates the maagzine in the first stage of the depress and at the second stage, opens the CO2 valve.

Non Blowback pistols have no blowback function and many of them feature in our budget range; many of them features a metal slide for added weight, since the frame itself is otherwise plastic. The upside to these are their usage economy (one gets more shots per CO2 cartridge) and their ballistic performance tend to be superior to the Blowback models we sell. They are much more affordable as well and for the self-defense minded customer, we recommend the Non Blowback range, due to their higher ballistic performance.

Please note that not all of our gas gun products are supplied with BB's. In order to use any of our CO2 pistols, you will need both BBs and a 12g CO2 catridge to operate them, which can be found in our accessories category.

All of our gas guns are legally for sale over the counter with no license needed.
