Selecting the right airsoft BBs determines how accurately and reliably your gun performs in every skirmish, training drill, or backyard target session. NeonSales stocks a focused range of 6mm BBs and plastic BBs from trusted manufacturers, giving South African players access to ammunition suited to both casual plinking and competitive play.
NeonSales is a dedicated South African supplier of airsoft ammunition, carrying products from recognised brands such as G&G Armament, Tippmann, and ASG. Every listing includes clear specifications covering BB weight, diameter, material composition, and pack quantity, so you can choose with confidence before placing your order.
Different shooting scenarios call for different BB types. Understanding the distinctions helps you get the most from your airsoft gun and your budget.
Standard plastic BBs are a practical choice for recreational shooting and entry-level airsoft guns. Options such as unbranded 6mm BBs, Airstrike 6mm plastic BBs, and economy packs of yellow 6mm BBs provide large round counts at accessible price points. Pack sizes in this category range from 1 000 to 5 000 rounds.
Match grade BBs are precision-polished to tighter dimensional tolerances, resulting in improved accuracy and smoother feeding through hop-up units and tighter-bore barrels. G&G Armament Match Grade 6mm BBs (0.30g) and Tippmann Match Grade 6mm BBs (available in 0.20g and 0.25g) represent this tier in our collection.
Biodegradable BBs break down naturally over time, making them the preferred option for outdoor fields and environmentally responsible players. Our G&G Armament biodegradable range spans multiple weights, including 0.25g, 0.28g, and 0.33g variants in pack sizes from 2 000 to 4 000 rounds.
4.5mm plastic BBs cater to compatible air pistols and lower-powered blasters. The ASG 4.5mm Blaster plastic BBs in our range offer a reliable feed option for this smaller calibre.
BB weight is the single most influential factor in airsoft ammunition performance. Lighter rounds such as 0.20g BBs travel at higher velocities and work well in spring-powered and lower-output electric guns used at close range. Heavier rounds in the 0.25g to 0.33g bracket maintain a more stable flight path, resist wind deflection, and deliver greater accuracy at distance.
Competitive skirmishers typically favour 0.25g or 0.28g BBs for the balance they offer between muzzle velocity and trajectory stability. Designated marksmen and sniper rifle users often step up to 0.30g or 0.33g rounds for tighter grouping at extended ranges.
Airsoft BBs serve purposes well beyond organised skirmishes. Recreational target shooting remains one of the most popular applications, offering an affordable way to practise marksmanship at home. Force-on-force training drills, casual plinking, and general familiarisation with airsoft replicas are additional uses where cost-effective plastic BBs deliver excellent value.

The ideal BB weight depends on your airsoft gun's power output and your typical engagement distance. Lower-powered guns generally perform best with 0.20g BBs, while upgraded or high-powered platforms benefit from heavier options between 0.25g and 0.33g. NeonSales stocks multiple weights from brands such as G&G Armament and Tippmann, so you can match ammunition to your specific setup.
Premium biodegradable airsoft BBs are manufactured to the same dimensional and surface-finish standards as conventional plastic BBs. The G&G Armament biodegradable range available at NeonSales offers comparable accuracy and feeding reliability while breaking down naturally after use. They are well suited to outdoor fields that require eco-friendly ammunition.
Match grade airsoft BBs are precision-polished to tighter dimensional tolerances than standard plastic BBs, resulting in a more consistent diameter and smoother surface finish. This improved uniformity reduces jams, enhances hop-up consistency, and delivers noticeably better accuracy in mid-range to high-end airsoft guns. NeonSales carries match grade options from G&G Armament and Tippmann alongside affordable standard BBs, so you can choose the grade that suits your platform.
