Ledlenser AF4R Work Floodlight: 2000 lumens and up to 20 hours of runtime in a light you carry in one hand
Most work lighting is decided by what you are willing to carry. A big floodlight solves the lighting problem and creates a transport problem, so it stays in the van and you end up working off a head torch instead. The AF4R is built for the other side of that trade. At 1370 grams and 266 millimetres across, it goes in a tool bag with everything else and comes out wherever the job actually is.
Sized for jobs that move
Electricians working through a house, plumbers under sinks, technicians in engine bays and anyone servicing equipment in a plant room share the same problem, which is that the work happens in a series of small awkward spaces rather than one place. Twenty four LEDs behind a 2000 lumen output is enough to light any of those spaces properly, and the compact body means you can set it down inside them rather than lighting from the doorway and working in your own shadow.
Twenty hours from the low setting
The full ladder runs 2000 lumens for about 2 hours at 100 percent, 1500 lumens for 3 hours, 1000 lumens for 4 hours, 500 lumens for around 9 hours, and 200 lumens for up to 20 hours at the lowest step. Most jobs do not need 2000 lumens continuously. They need enough light for a full day without thinking about the battery, and the middle of that ladder delivers exactly that from the internal 4700 mAh pack. Charging takes about 6 hours over USB-C.
Why 2000 lumens is the right ceiling here
It is easy to read that output figure as a limitation next to the larger lights in the range, but in the spaces this one is designed for, more brightness stops helping and starts getting in the way. Four thousand lumens aimed at a wall two metres from your face produces glare rather than visibility, and you spend the job squinting past it. Twenty four LEDs spreading 2000 lumens across a small interior gives you an evenly lit space instead of a hotspot, and it does it from a body you were willing to carry in the first place.

An integrated magnet holds it to any steel surface, which covers vehicle panels, distribution boards, structural steel, plant housings and racking. The built in stand handles the rest, and a tripod mount is there when the light needs to be above the work rather than beside it. Between the three, you can almost always aim light at the job from an angle that keeps your own body out of the beam.
Colour temperature you can choose
Tunable White Light offers five settings from 3000 K to 6500 K. Warmer light at the bottom of that range is easier on the eyes across a long stretch, while the cool end is closer to daylight and better for inspection work. A CRI of 80 means colours read accurately under it, which matters the moment you are identifying wiring, matching a finish or judging whether a stain is oil or coolant. The removable diffuser softens output when the light is close to the work and glare becomes the problem instead of darkness.
Mains power when you have it
Hybrid Power lets the AF4R run directly from the supplied adapter, and it charges while it runs. Plug it in at a fixed workstation and battery life stops being a consideration at all, then unplug and carry on when the job moves. There is no separate corded model to buy and no waiting for a charge cycle before the light is useful again.
Rated for the environment
The housing is chemical resistant aluminium alloy in the black and yellow Work series finish. It is rated IP67, so dust tight and waterproof, survives a 1.5 metre drop and operates between minus 20 and plus 40 degrees Celsius. Temperature Control and Cooling Technology holds output steady rather than dimming as the unit warms, and the Transportation Lock prevents it switching on in a bag.
