The MH11 sits at the top of Ledlenser's MH outdoor series, and it is aimed at people whose lighting requirements have outgrown a simple bright beam. Hunters, expedition walkers, search and rescue teams, night anglers and wildlife observers all need light that adapts rather than just illuminates, and this is the model where Ledlenser stacks its optical engineering, app connectivity and colour lighting into a single unit.
Boost mode produces 1000 lumens and pushes the beam out to 320 metres in short bursts, which is the setting for identifying something at the edge of your vision. Below that sits a graded range of practical outputs. Power holds 750 lumens with roughly 300 metres of reach for about 4 hours, Mid Power runs 300 lumens to around 200 metres for about 8 hours, and Low Power drops to 10 lumens and 30 metres while stretching runtime to as much as 100 hours.
That spread is the point. A hundred hours at low output means the MH11 covers a multi day trip on a single charge if you are disciplined about which mode you use, while the top end is there when a situation genuinely demands it. Stepless dimming lets you sit anywhere between the marked levels rather than jumping between fixed steps.
Ledlenser's patented Advanced Focus System moves the beam smoothly from a wide flood to a tight spot with a twist. Flood suits camp tasks, map reading and close work where a narrow beam would leave you constantly turning your head. Spot compresses the same output into a column that reaches across open ground. Because the change is continuous, you set the beam to the exact width the moment requires.
Optisense Technology handles brightness automatically by reading ambient light conditions and adjusting output to match. In practice this stops the lamp blinding you when you glance down at a map or a GPS, and it quietly conserves battery by not running at full power when full power is not needed.
A separate multi colour front light adds red, green and blue modes alongside the main white LED. Red preserves dark adapted vision, which is why it is standard practice for astronomers, hunters and anyone who needs to check gear at night without resetting their eyes to zero. Green and blue serve tracking, signalling and specialist observation tasks. Having these built into the same unit removes the need to carry a second filtered light.
Bluetooth connectivity links the MH11 to the Ledlenser Connect App, allowing you to customise settings and operate the lamp remotely from a phone. Being able to reconfigure mode sequences to suit your own use, rather than cycling through a factory order that half suits you, is the sort of refinement that separates a flagship from a mid range lamp.
Temperature Control and cooling technology maintain consistent output rather than letting the lamp throttle unpredictably as it heats. A transportation lock prevents accidental activation in a pack, which is what stops you reaching a campsite to find a flat battery and a very warm rucksack. Battery and charge indicators keep you informed of remaining capacity.
An integrated 18650 Li-ion rechargeable battery rated at 3200 mAh and roughly 11.5 Wh supplies the MH11, recharged through a magnetic USB connection. The magnetic system means no fragile port cover to tear off and no fiddling with a small plug in the dark or in gloves.
The lamp head tilts through more than 120 degrees, a wider arc than most headlamps offer, letting you direct light almost straight down for close work. Total weight is 179 grams with the battery fitted. The headband is adjustable and washable, and additional mounting options including helmet kits are available for users who need the lamp somewhere other than their forehead.
Durability is rated at IP54 for dust protection and splash resistance, with a 2 metre drop rating and an operating range from -20°C to +40°C. Those figures cover serious outdoor use in cold, heat, dust and rain, which is what a lamp at this level of the range needs to survive.
