PCP means you need a fill source

This is the section to read before buying a first PCP. These rifles run on compressed air at high pressure, and the rifle alone does not include a way to fill it. You need a hand pump, a scuba or dive bottle with the correct adapter, or an electric compressor. That is a real additional cost and a real decision, and it catches out buyers coming from springers. Filling probes and their O-ring sets are consumables, so keep spares.

Full auto and air consumption

The Blitz and Galatian Auto models are genuinely entertaining, and they empty an air cylinder considerably faster than a bolt action. Shot count per fill drops sharply on full auto, which means more time at the pump or compressor. Worth understanding before choosing one over a semi-automatic or bolt action, particularly if your fill source is a hand pump.

Common questions

Why is nearly everything .22? At PCP power levels .22 delivers a better balance of energy and trajectory than .177 for most South African use, particularly pest control. It is also the calibre this range is built around.

Are magazines interchangeable? Not across the whole range. The 12 shot .22 magazine stocked here fits the Flash and Vectis. Check the specific model before ordering.

Do these need a springer-rated scope? No. PCPs have no two-way recoil, so any quality scope works. That is one of the advantages over a spring rifle.
