Two point sling, closest to what we can offer you guys to an old army sling.
Colouring here is OD, manufactured from a tough, hard-wearing material that is densely interwoven. Will stand up to the harshest use.
The terminal ends for looping through the triple-bar retainers, are head-treated and will not unravel. It will however, fit with some difficulty through the retainer (which is hard plastic) and you might need to use a set of pliers to help pull the webbing through. Likewise, these ends are coated w/ something reminescent of contact adhesive, presumably to resist the abuse the pliers would exert on the webbing, to prevent fraying ends from coming out and also to keep these tongues rigid enough to go through the triple bar retainer, instead of curling and complicating the pull-through process. The ends which terminate and reduce to the 1" webbing straps, are folded onto one another and coovered with an extra part of material for reinforcing
The sling otherwise is 60mm in width and the length is adjustable. Off the shelf, this sling is 920mm in length, however, can be adjusted a tad longer to 1150mm, and of course, can be shortened. This sling does not readily adjust and likewise, does not easily lose its adjustment setting.
This sling is perfect for vintage battle rifles / hunting rifles that pack a bit of weight, for which modern and more ergonomic slings won't be suitable. As you might guess, this sling is perfectly suited for the bush - no snag on the material, highly cut resistant and will not stretch/elongate with time. The only downside is its weight and its reluctance to swivel. Best would be to use this sling in conjunction w/ sling stud swivels that can rotate. The colour of course, while not camouflage pattern, can always be smeared w/ dirt or painted to break up the solid colour / silhouette.
