Blademedic® / Pocket Sharpener
The Blademedic® Knife Sharpener is the first responder for field repairs on all types of knife blades. It’s like having an entire knife sharpening system right in your pocket - able to tackle regular or serrated blades, gut hooks, hunting, fishing, - just about any knife using one or all of the following elements:
Serving as a first responder for field repairs, lansky's Blademedic Knife Sharpener Kit will work on virtually all knife blades and can also be used on gut hooks. It features tungsten carbide, ceramic, and tapered diamond sharpening rods, along with a serrated knife sharpener designed to get inside even the smallest serrations. Sharpening angles on the rods are pre-set at 22.5° to achieve a 45° inclusive angle.
Three or four strokes on the tungsten carbide or 1000-grit ceramic rods will restore your blade's edge, repairing nicks and other damage while substantially increasing sharpness. The 600-grit diamond rod is ideal for fast reconditioning and maintenance, including fine finishing touches.
Features
- Tungsten Carbide: Just three or four strokes will restore your blade.
- Ceramic Sharpening Rods: Polish to a finished edge in three or four strokes.
- Serrated Knife Sharpener: Designed to get inside even the smallest serrations.
- Diamond Tapered Rod: For fast reconditioning and maintenance.
Tungsten Carbide
The tungsten carbide sharpening element in the Blademedic® is used to set an edge for an extremely dull blade, or to sharpen a blade in seconds. Just three or four strokes using moderate pressure will restore your blade. Tungsten Carbide is extremely aggressive though, and should only be used for quick sharpening as the need arises. For general edge maintenance, use the Serrated Ceramic element, or the Diamond Tapered Rod.
Ceramic Sharpening Rods
The Ceramic Sharpening Rods are used to polish and finish an edge in three or four strokes. Use the Ceramic Rods as the finishing step to using the Carbide element. The Fine Ceramic Rods can be used on their own to provide a “touch-up” to relatively sharp blades. These rods are not very aggressive and can be used on your blade regularly.
Serrated Knife Sharpener
The Serrated Knife Sharpener gets inside small and large serrations. When using this sharpener, always move the blade away from your hand. For larger serrations, use a sweeping motion to cover the entire surface of the serration.
Diamond Tapered Rod
The diamond tapered rod is the sharpening element to use for very fast reconditioning and maintenance of both straight and serrated blades. It is also excellent for gut hooks. The tapered shape of the Fine Diamond Rod allows for greater versatility, enabling the user to quickly sharpen small and large serrations, or to use like a butcher’s steel on straight blades. The Diamond Rod should be used sparingly, as diamond is an aggressive material. Use the Diamond Tapered Rod when sharpening speed is crucial, or for hard-to-sharpen items, such as gut hooks. Note: The use of lubrication/honing oil is not recommended with our diamond sharpening products.
