Which line for which rifle?

HMD and LRX reticles

Both are holdover reticles with reference points below the centre, which lets you aim off for drop rather than adjusting turrets between distances. HMD is the more common across this range. LRX appears on selected Gameking models. Either is more useful than a plain duplex on an air rifle or rimfire, where trajectory is curved enough that holdover is a constant part of shooting.

Mounts included, or not

The Mountmaster and Airking are supplied with 3/8 inch dovetail mounts, which makes them a complete solution for an air rifle and removes the most common mounting error. The higher lines are sold without, so budget for rings. The Steel-Lok and Tac-Lok rings stocked here are 30mm Picatinny in three heights, and height matters: the objective bell must clear the barrel with room to spare, which is why a 50mm objective usually needs medium or high.

Common questions

What does AO mean? Adjustable objective, the parallax adjustment on the front bell. It removes the apparent crosshair shift when your head moves, which matters far more at airgun distances than at rifle distances.

Will these survive a springer? The Mountmaster and Airking are built for air rifle use. Spring piston recoil is harsh in both directions, so confirm springer rating before mounting any scope on one.

Is first focal plane worth it? On the Diamond FFP, the reticle scales with magnification so holdover marks stay correct at any power. That matters for precision work and matters little if you shoot at one magnification.

What is ED glass? Extra low dispersion glass, used on the Hornet to reduce colour fringing at high magnification. At 50x it makes a visible difference.
