AKSA ARMS AK-21 (SIG P365 REPLICA) BLANK GUN
This is one of the nicer offerings by AKSA ARMS, that doesn't have an unruly large handling feel to it, alike the other models - this pistol does actually feel dimensionally accurate and does fit the CYTAC Gen 3 I-MINI GUARD hardshell holster intended for it. Overall, a very lovely, good quality buy.
Key Features;
- Subcompact pistol featuring a polymer frame
- Thoroughly (aggressive) stippled handle, Sig Sauer style
- Very realistic replica of the Sig Sauer P365
- Front and rear cocking serrations
- Striker fired appearance and does actually employ a type of striker firing mechanism. Not hammer fired at all.
- Triangular magazine release - same as which features on the Sig Sauer P365.
- Iron sights painted w/ red dots, to lend a 'fibre optic insert' appearance.
The slide itself features low, shallow bevels, typically as you'd have on the current generation of Sig Sauer pistols - this counteracts any squared angles that might create a snag hazard, likewise makes it slightly easier to holster these pistols. The sights are raised a little, featuring painted red dots on the sights that would normally be used for improved target acquisition.
The ejection port is 2/3 open, allowing for easier cartridge ejection, likewise featuring a very spacious gap for the spent brass casings to be extracted though.
The frame as mentioned, is polymer completely and the handle itself is long enough to permit for a fully grown adult's to fit snug around it, w/out needing to curl one finger off the handle, which can by annoying on a lot of subcompact pistols. This is in part to thank due to the slanted magazine floor plate, which, with its jutted, curved end, allows the user to comfortably hold the pistol completely around the handle.
There is unfortunately no underbarrel Picatinny rail on this model, although, the grooves on the frame sides under the barrel, would indicate at the presence of these.
The slide catch release and field strip lever both feature parallelogram shapes that slant forwardly
The magazine itself is a double stack 10-round one, featuring a shiny coating over the body, which reduces the friction between the magazine and the handle interior.
The pistol proper, as mentioned, fits into its designated CYTAC holster w/out much problems, but the trigger guard catch won't come into play, as this pistol's trigger guard has a larger cross-section that won't fit into the gap properly between the ramp and the terminal of the holster.
As for the trigger - it does rather break easily - the uptake of the trigger is equally as heavy as the break, so the shot fired from gun could at first come as a surprise, as there isn't a sloping wall to breach, in terms of reaching the trigger break point. With a little practice, one can easily get used to the trigger pull and enjoy the lower trigger uptake tension.
Overall - we really enjoy this pistol, its handling and operation, although it is slightly on the weightier side for a Sig Sauer P365 replica.
NB; Alike the Sig Sauer P320 - this pistol does not feature any manual or trigger safety - this will require you to be very careful with the pistol and to be mindful of the trigger at all times.
