Our newest addition to the KUZEY 911 lineup, the 5"-barrel COLT 1911 replica, now available in this nice, chromed finish w/ synthetic grip stocks, exactly like we had on the KUZEY 911 #2 model (broadened synthetic grip stocks w/ hexagonal checkering w/ nickel plated panhead fasteners), however, this one is man sized and does weigh quite a bit (hence being an all-metal gun). Unlike the 911-T model, this one does feature a straight slide w/ flusher, 1911-like dimensions, which is rather satisfying to the eye and makes it a little of a pleasure to handle.
The ejection port is a 2/3 hole, so the cartridges have ample space to eject from. As you can expect from the lofty cocking serrations - the slide does rack easy w/ a full pinch grip. There are frontal cocking serrations as well for those so inclined or people that might otherwise want to avoid getting nipped by the ejection port. The sights for cosmetic purposes are in place and they can presumably assist if you're looking at using one of these for dry firing, though as with a normal firearm - we do strongly caution against dry firing.
The grip stocks as previously mentioned, are synthetic and broadened out along the medial line. This is because single stack magazine pistol handles typically are narrower and so, to accommodate for the typical man's hand, the pistol grip has to be beefier for a proper wrap-around grip.
The backstrap safety does function the way it should - you need to depress this, otherwise the trigger cannot actuate. It is normally depressed by means of the nape of your grasp - so this backstrap is to ensure that the trigger can only be pulled, once you have the pistol in your grasp.
The ambidextrous safety functions almost like that on a COLT 1911, however, on this one, even if the gun is cocked, you can activate the safety. Normally, you'd have to have a round in the chamber via racking the slide, which would cock the gun, in order to be able to toggle the safety, however, this is nice enough nevertheless, most certainly not a deal breaker.
One of the most attractive features to this pistol, is that it field strips exactly the way a COLT 1911 does, which is perhaps the finishing touch to this pistol and does a lot to add appreciation from vintage aficionados - those specifically who might appreciate modern reproduction models of the 1911.
As with all KUZEY models, you receive this pistol pre-packed in a medium-hard pistol carry case w/ a flat profile.
