Advantages of the HATSAN FLASH 101 over the HATSAN FLASH;
-
Upgrading cocking action - features a new hinging SIDE LEVER action w/ vertical bar for easy cocking, as opposed to the old, difficult bolt that made operating the rifle unpleasant.
2. Muzzle break w/ aluminium inset - also known as an 'air stripper' - this improves overall shooting accuracy, however, this does fit onto the 1/2" UNF threaded barrel end, so you can remove said muzzle brake and replace it with an aftermarket air
rifle silencer of your choice.
3. Safety position - now sits outside of the trigger guard - just below the rail on the RH face of the rifle as a thumb switch w/ a clear RED indicator for FIRE
4. Improved rifle grip ergonomy - features finger slots for a more positive hold on the rifle
5. Improved Butt pad - features a curved Butt pad that squishes in easier against the shoulder, making more contact with your shoulder, reducing shoulder slippage and improving shooting confidence
6. Air reservoir capacity: The FLASH features a 165cc tube, whereas the FLASH 101 features a larger 215cc. The muzzle energy on both rifles is the same (42 J), but the FLASH 101 yields 50 optimal shots, while the FLASH only 40. (Manufacturer's claim)
7. The FLASH 101 is half a KG heavier (weighing in 3KG), but a heavier weight usually helps to mitigate recoil. Recoil in PCP rifles affect longer distance accuracy.
8. The rifles are otherwise the same length, both featuring a 17.7" barrel
***
This is a really nice version of the FLASH, featuring an ambidextrous thumb-hole stock, also with a polymer side / two stage cocking lever (but w/ a steel hinge arm). The cocking force required is surprisingly low, doesn't require you to exert significant effort, merely to have to chamber the following round, which otherwise was one of the more annoying features on the previous version of the FLASH.
Keeping with the tradition of the FLASH - this rifle also weighs in next to nothing, whilst providing HUGE power.
You are supplied w/ an air stripper at the front end, although this does thread off, to be replaced with a 1/2 x 20" UNF threaded .22 (air rifle) silencer. This rifle is also supplied w/ a steel thread protector as you had on the previous FLASH(PUP). The rifle length stays the same otherwise, and whilst the cheekpiece isn't adjustable on this model, there is a comb shape moulded in that provides some elevation for your cheek to rest against.
The rail section here is a dovetail / weaver hybrid, so you can use either/or as you prefer / as you have available, although you will need to use a two piece mount ring set - a single piece will conflict w/ the breech slot, where the magazine would slot in.
The trigger as you might've expected, is a QUATTRO type, meaning, it has three points of adjustment. From HATSAN USA's webpage, please see here;
"Hatsan’s Quattro trigger is one of the most sophisticated airgun triggers on the market today. It has 3 user-adjustable settings via 3 adjustment screws. Starting from the front of the rifle:
- Adjuster #1: Closest screw to the muzzle. This screw sets the initial depth of sear engagement, or overall trigger travel.
- Adjuster #2: Middle screw. This screw sets the point at which your 2nd stage engages.
- Adjuster #3: Rear screw. This screw adjusts the final pull weight of the trigger. DO NOT over-adjust this screw, as there must be enough spring pressure to set the sear when cocking your gun!
-
PCP (Pre-Charged Pneumatic)
- Adjuster #1 can be turned clockwise to reduce initial sear engagement (overall trigger travel); however, it is possible to adjust this to a point at which the sear will not set or will not reliably remain set. If you experience a failure to cock or a failure to remain cocked, turn this adjuster counter-clockwise ¼ turn and test again.
- Adjuster #2 will set the engagement point for your 2nd stage. Clockwise will move the engagement point further forward, and can be set to a point that eliminates the 2-stage function of the trigger. Counter-clockwise will move the engagement point further rearward, however, it can be adjusted to a point at which the sear cannot be disengaged. If you experience a failure to fire, turn this adjuster clockwise ¼ turn and test again.
- Adjuster #3 will adjust the trigger pull weight, and can help you dial your trigger down to a nice light pull. Counter-clockwise will reduce pull force, however, there must be enough spring pressure to set the sear when cocking the gun. If your gun does not cock after adjusting this screw, turn it ¼ turn clockwise and test again.
The air reservoir cannot be hand-removed and does feature that typical plug-in dust cover - please reinsert this once you're done (re)filling your air rifle.
We also do appreciate that the guage sits under the belly of this rifle. This is a HATSAN branded guage and comparably small w/ low resolution, but works fine as a rough indicator for where your pressure is currently resting at. As you might suspect - this rifle is unfortunately not regulated, but it does readily make up for this with hard and solid power.
One of the more striking features to this synthetic stock, is the slope form which the trigger guard is moulded into, up top the Picatinny rail strip under the front end of the rifle, which is a pleasant aesthetic.
The safety lever has also been upgraded in our opinion - it now is a toggle switch, that sits right beneath the cocking lever - similar to the LEVIATHAN, for those familiar with that rifle. This does completely block the trigger from actuating.
There are otherwise a whole slew of lines / pinstripes decorating this rifle, which ads to the overall aesthetic this rifle possesses.
This is a really nice "Troubleshooter" rifle for when things go bump around the yard / plot. This rifle has a higher rate of fire possible compared to the previous FLASH model, so taking care of business shouldn't be too much of a problem. Just bear in mind that this rifle is not supplied w/ any open sights - so you'll need to look at something like atleast a red dot sight for aiming purposes.
In terms of what's included - please see the illustration attached. You are not supplied a Male Q/C x 1/8" BSP female adapter, so please search for it in our listings;
- MALE Q/C x 1/8" BSP FEMALE THREADING
