Slugs typically are bullet-shaped and yield the highest combination of kinetic energy transfer and penetration. These are designed for heaviest duty hitting power that commercial air rifles currently are capable of delivering.

These testers are ideal for measuring their flight path when used in conjunction with one's rifle, in order to get the best balance of range, ballistic trajectory, and payload delivery, without needing to purchase entire tins of pellets that may not be optimally suited to one's rifle.
