What full tang actually means

On a full tang knife the steel of the blade continues through the entire handle rather than stopping at a narrow spike. That is what makes a fixed blade strong enough to be batoned, prised or leaned on without the handle separating. It is the specification that matters most on a field knife, and it is why the F815 and F118 sit where they do.

G10 handles

Most of the P and D Series use G10, a layered glass fibre laminate. It grips well when wet, resists chemicals and temperature, and does not swell or crack the way natural materials can. It is heavier than plastic and lighter than metal, and it is the standard choice on working folders for exactly those reasons.

Common questions

What do the model codes mean? The letter indicates the series and the number the model, with a suffix for handle colour or finish. A P831-SF and a P831S-SB are the same knife pattern in different finishes.

Do they arrive sharp? With a working factory edge, yes. As with any production knife, a touch up on a stone or sharpener before serious use is worthwhile.

Which is the sensible first Ruike? The S11 slipjoint if you want something pocketable and inexpensive. A P801 or D191 if you want a locking folder to carry daily.

Are sheaths included? The fixed blades are supplied with sheaths or scabbards as noted in the listing. Folders are not, since they carry in a pocket or on a clip.
