Sized by category, not by model

The rail distinction matters more than people expect. A pistol with a rail is physically wider and squarer at the front of the frame, and a holster cut without allowance for it will not seat properly. Check whether your pistol has a rail before choosing between medium and medium rail.

Where Maverick fits against moulded holsters

A Cytac or Fobus holster is injection moulded to one pistol and retains it with an audible click. A Maverick is fabric or synthetic, sized to a category, and retained by tension or a strap. The moulded holster wins on retention and draw consistency. Maverick wins on price, on covering pistols nobody moulds for, and on carrying more than one pistol without buying a holster for each.

Carry position matters more than the holster

IWB clip-on sits inside the waistband and conceals best. Inside and outside models can be worn either way, which is useful if your requirement changes. Thigh and dropleg rigs put the pistol below the belt line, which suits use over other equipment or where a belt holster would be obstructed, though they conceal poorly. Choose the position first, then the holster.

Left hand available? Several models are stocked in left hand, marked LH in the title. Not every model is, so check the listing.

Will a 42 inch rifle bag fit my rifle? Measure muzzle to buttstock with any moderator fitted, then add a few centimetres. 42 and 44 inch bags are stocked, plus a 50 inch sleeve.

What is a rifle sleeve versus a bag? A sleeve is a simple protective cover with no padding or compartments. A bag is padded with a zip and usually pockets. The sleeve is for dust and scratches, not impact.

Do the pouches fit any belt? Most are sized for a standard belt width. MOLLE versions attach to webbing rather than a belt, so check which mounting you need.
