ASG CO2 Pistols and Airsoft Gas in South Africa

ASG is Danish, and the business is built on officially licensed replicas. That licensing is the point: a CZ 75 or a Steyr M9-A1 from ASG carries the correct markings and dimensions, which is why they are used for familiarisation and training as well as target shooting. Blowback or non-blowback?

If you are buying for familiarisation with a specific pistol, blowback is the version worth paying for. If you want shot count and consistency for target work, non-blowback goes further on the same gas.

Lubricate the CO2, seriously

The Ultrair lubrication capsules are not an accessory, they are maintenance. Every CO2 capsule you fire dries out the seals a little, and a dry seal is the most common failure in this whole category. Firing a lubrication capsule periodically keeps the O-rings serviceable and turns a leaking pistol into one that keeps working. At R55 it is cheaper than the parts kit you will otherwise need.

Common questions

What is the difference between 4.5mm and 6mm here? The 4.5mm CO2 pistols are airguns firing steel BBs or pellets. The 6mm gas pistols are airsoft, firing plastic BBs at lower energy for skirmish use. Same brand, different sports, different ammunition.

Are parts kits worth keeping in stock? If you shoot regularly, yes. They cover the seals and small components that wear, and they are model-specific so check which kit covers your pistol.

What gas do the airsoft pistols use? Ultrair green gas, stocked in 570ml. CO2 powerlets are for the 4.5mm airguns and are not interchangeable.
