The holster illustrated here is sold seperately and can be found here

Cast-iron telescopic baton, nickel plated, double stage extension.

The rubberized grip is serrated around the circumference of the grip, at 6mm intervals. The grip also has "POLICE . BATON" embossed and it lends good traction to one's hand / anti-slip properties.

Being stowed, this baton measures 197mm (7.75"), with a diameter of ø26mm. When completely deployed, it measures 485mm (19.09").

The tubular shafts are hollow, with the first stage' one featuring a cross-section of 2mm and an exterior diameter of ø17.50mm.
The second stage extension has a cross-section of 2mm as well, with an exterior diameter of 11mm. These two shafts cannot be seperated as they are and only on certain models, can the flat cylindrical cap / end-piece thread off to remove the shafts from one another.

The base cap is cast iron as well, w/ an imbedded magnet which can be replaced if need be. Otherwise, it serves to retain the baton from extending out freely when it is held upside down, requiring you to deliberately swing the baton out, in order to extend it.

That being said - you will need to lubricate the shafts often, using multigrade oil - the latter works well and you need only a little bit. Thereafter, just work it in properly along all the inter-fitting points. The excess you can work onto the handle itself, which will strengthen it and make it more supple with repeated treatments as the oil gradually penetrates deeper. Remember that, the more pliable the rubber, the better grip it will provide.

If left untreated, the rubber will eventually absorb moisture and over a period of time, start to weaken and may one day critically fail or just gradually disintegrate.

Lubrication of the shaft is to allow you to stow the baton easier, using only your hands, whereas not lubricating it, will result in you needing to bang the tip against a hard surface, which will eventually bugger the magnet up at the back. This will then crumble out and your baton will no longer be able to remain stowed when turned upside down. Not only that, but the nickel plating at the tip will get worn off in no time at all and the baton will start losing its aesthetic appeal.

----

Please note that, as a martial weapon, we strongly advise you to perform practice with these in order to hone your ability with them, especially where on the baton specifically to hit the intended target with, also for indoor discipline, so that you'll be mindful of furniture and particularly walls, when using a reach-based weapon like this to pacify a target.

----

Otherwise, with a weapon like this, you can perform precision strikes after some training and muscle-memory, which we highly recommend prior to deployment / bringing this into a home defence situation.
