ZORAKI MOD 917-TD BLANK GUN - BLACK
ZORAKI MOD 917-TD BLANK GUN - BLACK
This is likely one of the nicest GLOCK 17 type replicas we've stocked before, aside from the officially licensed product - It holds and handles exactly like the real deal, much of which cannot be said for the likes of KUZEY and RETAY at the time of posting this.
The reason we say this, is because this pistol, as per the video right at the bottom of this description, we demonstrate that this pistol fits into a hardshell holster profile-moulded to the GLOCK 17 pistol's shape. For those interested, as w/ most polymer frame blank guns, the internals are kept to the frame by means of knurl-head steel roller pins.
The frame is polymer and large auto sized, featuring the Gen 3 stippling on the front and rear of the handle. The finger groove boundaries run perpendicular to the handle's diagonal axis, instead of being horizontal.
Behind the magazine floorplate, you'll find a lanyard loophole which would be useful for affixing a lanyard loophole onto. The frontal side of the handle is flared outward / forward, reminescent of the GLOCK Gen 5 models, although this is not radially applicable. It does however, add a bit of ergonomy to the front of the handle.
On the front of the frame, under the barrel, there is a double slot Picatinny rail for affixing a laser dot / flashlight onto - this is not a goofy / proprietary rail, but conforms to MIL-SPEC 1913.
This gun is likewise double action as well as single action, similarly to the SIG SAUER P320, meaning you can fire the gun off, w/out needing the rack the slide, but since it doesn't feature a decocker / means to externally decock the internal hammer, you therefore cannot use the double action as a safety, so to say.
The double action as can be expected, defeats stiffly, however, the broad trigger blade does make it comfortable to overcome. Having a pistol w/ no conventional safety lever, does make it easy to discharge the gun, and in some cases, a little too easy at that - just be conscient of this - the holster option we recommend w/ this pistol.
In terms of field strip, the procedure is the same as the KUZEY A100 / P122 models - a T-shaped pin, located on the frame inside the trigger guard, that needs to be pushed downward, with some force, whereafter one can then hitch the slide off at the rear of the frame. Reassembly is the reverse procedure of the aforementioned.
The trigger guard sure is innteresting - featuring a forward finger rest position inside the trigger guard, where you could rest your finger, instead of needing to rest it outside, against the trigger guard. The cup shape would counteract accidental trigger-jerking due to anxiousness.
Otherwise, in our opinion - this pistol very, VERY similar to the GLOCK 17 Gen 5 UMAREX replica blank gun and certainly is the next best thing compared to it.
Overall, our impression of this pistol is exceedingly positive. We hope you guys will appreciate it as much as we do! Everything on this pistol operates nice and positive, w/ little play on the different interfitted components. Shaking the pistol around, you'll hear very little rattle - just the slight tolerance between the slide and the slide rails that you'll hear, but only if shaken vigorously enough.
Key Features;
- GLOCK 17 GEN 3 shape and compatable w/ hardshell holsters moulded for that pistol. Near 1:1 replica, the closest thing in terms of a blank gun, compared to a GLOCK 17 Gen 3
- DA / SA
- Realistic sights that can be painted white
- Back of slide resembles that of a GLOCK
- ZORAKI quality assurance - ZORAKI in terms of its manufacturing reputation, in our opinion, is second to none, but instead, shares its top position w/ EKOL only
-
Polymer frame, reduces the overall weight of the pistol significantly
- 17+1 shot magazine capacity (exactly like the real deal), as opposed to the 9+1 shot of the BRUNI GAP
