This is one of the better upgrades we found for the HDR50, that comes w/ a negligible number of drawbacks, which offers therefore, significant value for the price tag.
This is a punch button fit-on accessory that
- Widens out the space by which you can bump the piercing cap, in order to pressure the marker. In stressful situations, when it's time to get down to business w/ someone not looking to take NO for an answer, you need to whack once and let that pressurize your marker for use. This expanded strike area, allows for that confident gas-up hit.
- It acts as a tap - Gone now is the time when you will need your Allen key to thread-off the screw at the base, or otherwise, a mechanic's death grip. Now you can simply twist the cap off, dispose of a used capsule, chuck a fresh one in, then thread the cap back up - all done easily, w/ no tools needed.
- Creates a more desirable flush appearance - a lot of people have complained about what an eyesore the bump cap is. This part will now create a flusher appearance at the base of the handle, likewise, conceal that orange "PUSH" ring at the base of the cap, lending a more realistic appearance. a Hole for the Allen key is still available as failsafe - in case, if for whatever reason, the ears of the punch button get destroyed / broken off, however unlikely.
It is a fixture and remains on the marker - no need to remove it - once installed, we advise keeping it fitted on.
To install, make sure there is no CO2 capsule in the marker. Thread the bump cap in completely w/ your Allen key until it no longer budges. Then place this part on, corresponding the shaped slot w/ that of the bump cap, in such a way that the punch button appears flush fitting. Use a bit of force to push it on, lightly tap w/ a rubber mallet if need be. This part is designed to sit nice and firm, likewise, will not easily come off.
