Suplet PoE Injector 30W (LAS30-57CN-RJ45): Gigabit Midspan Power for IP Cameras and Access Points
You have an IP camera, access point, or VoIP phone that needs power, but the nearest electrical outlet is on the wrong side of the room and there's no PoE switch in the rack. A PoE injector solves this in seconds. Plug your Ethernet cable from the network switch into one port, plug the cable to your device into the other, and the injector adds 56V DC power onto the data cable so your device receives both network connectivity and electrical power through a single Ethernet run. No separate power adaptor at the device end. No additional cable to route.
The Suplet LAS30-57CN-RJ45 delivers 30 watts at 56V DC, which is enough to power the vast majority of 802.3af and 802.3at compliant PoE devices including IP cameras (dome, bullet, PTZ), wireless access points, VoIP handsets, and small network switches with PoE passthrough. The 30W output sits comfortably above the 15.4W requirement of 802.3af devices and meets the needs of most 802.3at (PoE+) equipment that draws up to 25.5W at the powered device end.
Data passes through at 10/100/1000 Mbps (Gigabit), so the injector doesn't become a bottleneck on your network. A 4MP or 8MP IP camera streaming full-resolution video at high bitrates gets the same throughput it would on a direct switch connection. There is no speed penalty for adding the injector into the cable path.
Power delivery uses midspan injection on pins 4,5 (+) and 7,8 (-), which is the standard pin configuration for Mode A PoE. This is compatible with the overwhelming majority of PoE devices on the market. If you're unsure whether your device supports this pinout, check its datasheet for "Mode A" or "midspan" compatibility.
The AC input accepts 100 to 240V at 50/60 Hz with a maximum draw of 2A, so the injector works directly from South African mains power without a voltage converter or step-down transformer. The wide input range also means it operates correctly through the minor voltage fluctuations that are common on municipal power grids.
The unit is rated for indoor use only. For outdoor camera or access point installations, mount the injector inside the building (in a comms cabinet, ceiling void, or distribution board enclosure) and run the powered Ethernet cable out to the device. Standard PoE operates over cable runs of up to 100 metres, which provides plenty of reach for most outdoor mounting positions from an indoor injector location.
