The OPTEX BXS Shield Wireless Outdoor PIR with AM is an outdoor perimeter motion detector designed to provide reliable detection across two independently adjustable areas. With detection coverage of up to 12 metres on each side, the BXS-RAM provides a combined coverage of up to 24 metres, making it suitable for protecting the immediate perimeter of residential and commercial properties.
The BXS Shield uses four PIR sensors, with two positioned on each side of the detector. The left and right detection areas can be configured independently, allowing installers to adjust the detection range, sensitivity, and alarm output to suit the specific layout of the property.
Each side of the BXS Shield can be configured separately, with selectable detection distances of 2.5m, 3.5m, 6m, 8.5m, and 12m. Sensitivity can also be adjusted from low through to extremely high, with the highest setting capable of detecting temperature differences of approximately 1°C.
The detector can also be connected to a fixed or PTZ CCTV camera, allowing a visual alarm response when movement is detected within the protected perimeter.
The BXS Shield features two passive infrared beams on each side. One beam is directed towards the ground while the other points away from the sensor. Both beams must be triggered to confirm a detection, helping reduce unwanted activations caused by smaller animals while maintaining reliable detection of people.
The BXS-RAM is the wireless anti-masking model in the BX Shield range. It incorporates active anti-masking technology to help identify attempts to obstruct the detector. Digital dual-layer detection, SMDA logic with anti-sway, and double conductive shielding further contribute to reliable outdoor operation.
The OPTEX BXS Shield is designed with convenient installation and adjustment in mind. A 90-degree unlocking system provides easy access to the settings area, while an integrated spirit level helps ensure the detector is mounted correctly. Important adjustment areas are colour-coded in blue to make configuration easier.
The OPTEX BXS Shield Wireless Outdoor PIR with AM combines wide-area perimeter detection, independently adjustable left and right zones, active anti-masking, and dual-layer PIR technology in a wireless outdoor detector. Its flexible range adjustment and CCTV integration make it suitable for protecting approaches, buildings, homes, and perimeter areas.
