Nextorch WL22R Red Laser Gunlight, 650 Lumens
At 74 grams with the battery fitted and 55 millimetres long, the Nextorch WL22R is small enough that mounting it barely changes the balance of what it sits on. That matters more than it sounds. A heavy unit on a short rail shifts weight forward and is felt every time the platform is raised, which is the usual reason a light gets removed and left in a drawer.
What the WL22R produces
Maximum white output is 650 lumens with a beam distance of 102 metres, alongside the red aiming laser. Runtime is 1 hour on a built in 250 mAh rechargeable battery, charged through a Type-C port on the unit itself, so there are no cells to buy, swap or lose.
Mounting and build
The patented rail mounting system installs single handedly and quickly. The housing is aerospace aluminium with a hard anodised finish, measuring 55 by 30 by 36 millimetres, rated impact resistant to 1 metre and sealed to IPX4 against splashing water from any direction.
