Combination units solve a rail space problem. A rail is short, and once a light is mounted there is rarely room left for anything else. The Nextorch WL21G puts a 650 lumen white light and a green laser into one compact housing, so a single mounting point covers both, and the balance of the setup stays closer to where it started.
Green is used rather than red because of how human eyes work. Peak sensitivity sits close to the green part of the visible spectrum, so a green laser of a given power reads as substantially brighter than a red one at the same output. The practical result is a dot that stays visible in conditions where red washes out, particularly at dusk, at longer distances and against pale or busy backgrounds.
The white light produces 650 lumens with a beam distance of 130 metres. That pairing is deliberate rather than accidental: 130 metres is a realistic working distance for a mounted light, and 650 lumens across that range gives usable illumination without the wall of reflected glare that a much higher output produces indoors or against a close surface. Power comes from a single 16340 rechargeable battery, which keeps the housing short and the running costs down compared with disposable cells.
It fits both 1913 Picatinny rails and Glock pattern rails, which between them cover the large majority of platforms likely to be in front of it. The unit is rated IPX4 for water resistance, covering splashing water from any direction, and is rated impact resistant to 1 metre.
