Mycro 500 Plus spot and flood output
There is a spotlight and a COB floodlight, and they do genuinely different jobs. The spot handles distance: Turbo gives 500 lumens to 90 metres in 30 second intervals, High holds 200 lumens to 60 metres for an hour, Medium runs 100 lumens to 42 metres for 2 hours, and Low provides 30 lumens to 23 metres for 3 hours.
The COB flood handles everything within arm's reach, at 200 lumens over 24 metres for 25 minutes on high, or 50 lumens for an hour on low. A COB red mode gives 25 lumens for 35 minutes.
Seven modes from one button would normally mean a long cycle and a lot of pressing. What makes it tolerable is that the two sources are separated in the sequence rather than interleaved, so you are choosing a light type first and a level second rather than scrolling past six irrelevant options to reach the one you want.
Direct-to-Red on a headlamp specifically
Red light preserves dark adaptation, which takes twenty minutes to build and a moment of white light to destroy. On a handheld torch that matters. On a headlamp it matters considerably more, because the lamp is pointed at whatever you look at, including other people, and a headlamp cycling up through white to reach red will blind everyone facing you on the way.

Five hundred lumens from a lamp this size produces heat faster than an 85 gram housing can shed it, so Turbo is a burst for identifying something at 90 metres rather than a mode to work in. High, at 200 lumens for an hour, is the real top setting.
What it shares with the standard model
The optics, the emitters, the battery, the clip, the strap and every published output figure are identical to the standard Mycro 500 Plus. The difference is the finish and nothing else, which makes this a straightforward choice: pay the difference if the matte black and the absent branding matter to you, and buy the standard version if they do not.
