The Nebo Luxtreme SL75 belongs to a category that sits above ordinary torches: a spotlight built to throw a narrow, coherent beam roughly three quarters of a mile, which is around 1.2 kilometres. That is not a beam for walking with. It is a beam for answering a question at distance, whether that is a movement at the far end of a farm, a channel marker from a boat, or the treeline beyond a camp.
A spotlight is only steady if something holds it, which is why the tripod mount matters. The standard 1/4 20 thread takes any camera tripod or clamp mount, and a strong magnetic base handles vehicle panels and steel structures. A reversible, removable steel clip is included along with the hex key needed to take it off, plus a lanyard for the times you are holding it over water.
Modes are chosen on a dial rather than by clicking through, and a lockout mode disables the light entirely so it cannot switch on in a bag or a vehicle. Smart Power Control manages output and consumption, and an LED indicator reports power and charging status. It runs on a dual 21700 lithium ion rechargeable battery and charges over USB-C, and the box includes both a USB-C to USB cable and a USB-C to 12 volt charger, so a vehicle can top it up on the way out.
The body is anodised aircraft grade aluminium with durable rubber sections and a rubberised grip, finished in satin black with cool grey aluminium sleeves. It is rated IP67 for water resistance and rated impact resistant, which together cover rain, spray, dust and the drop off a bakkie bonnet that eventually happens to every light of this size.
