Turbo on the Einstein 1000 Flex is specified at 10 second intervals rather than as a runtime, and that is worth respecting rather than reading as a limitation. One thousand lumens from a lamp this small generates heat faster than the housing can shed it. A manufacturer quoting minutes at that output is either not producing it or is damaging the lamp to claim it.
High gives 350 lumens to 55 metres for 3 hours. Medium runs 150 lumens to 50 metres for 6 hours. Low provides 10 lumens to 14 metres for 18 hours. A red mode at 5 lumens lasts 12 hours.
Turbo reaches 120 metres and exists for identifying something at distance for a few seconds, which is exactly what a 1000 lumen burst is good for. Treat High as the real top setting and the lamp makes sense.
The lamp runs on a 2200 mAh 3.7 V lithium ion cell or on two CR123A primary batteries. Nebo publishes the penalty for the swap, which is roughly 20 percent less runtime on CR123A, and publishing it is the useful part.
CR123A cells hold their charge for years on a shelf and tolerate cold far better than lithium ion does. Carrying a pair as backup means the lamp has a second life beginning the moment the rechargeable ends, with no power source and no waiting, at a documented cost rather than a guessed one.
ABS and aluminium construction, rated IPX4 against water, with top positioned buttons handling power and mode selection. Putting the controls on top rather than the front means finding them by feel while wearing the lamp, without pressing the lamp into your forehead to do it. The unit measures 127 by 51 by 76 millimetres.
