The Davinci 3500 is a floodlight in the shape of a torch. It produces 3500 lumens but reaches only 131 metres, and that combination tells you exactly what it is built to do: fill an area with light rather than pick something out at the far end of one.
With the narrowest zoom range in the family and the highest output, this torch pushes a great deal of light into the near and middle distance. Lighting a work area, a driveway, a camp, a breakdown at the roadside, a room during a power cut, the inside of a vehicle you are working on. For all of these, 131 metres is more than sufficient and 3500 lumens is the useful number.
Anyone who needs distance is looking at the wrong model. The 1000 in this family reaches more than twice as far on a third of the output.
The 4500 mAh 21700 cell is a genuine power bank as well as the torch's own supply. That capacity is roughly a full phone charge and then some, which changes what the torch is doing in a bag. On a camping trip, a long drive or during an outage it stops being one more thing to keep charged and becomes part of how everything else stays charged.
High gives 3500 lumens to 131 metres for 2 hours. Medium runs 700 lumens to 65 metres for 5 hours. Low provides 70 lumens to 32 metres for 20 hours. Strobe matches full output for 2 hours. A dial handles mode selection with a single rear button for power, so the torch comes on where you set it rather than where you last left it.
The housing is anodised aircraft grade aluminium with an IP67 rating covering both dust and water. At 386 grams and 206.4 millimetres it is the largest of the dial operated Davinci torches, which follows from the bigger 21700 cell needed to run 3500 lumens and serve as a power bank at the same time.
