The Davinci 1000 is the longest reaching torch in its family despite being the least powerful of them, and the reason is the zoom. At 6x it concentrates the beam harder than any other model in the range, and concentration rather than output is what determines how far light travels.
Twisted fully out, the head narrows the beam into a tight column that carries 299 metres. Twisted in, the same 1000 lumens spreads into a broad flood for a room or a work area. The range between those two extremes is wider here than on the higher output models, which sounds like a detail and is actually the main reason to choose this one.
A torch with a large zoom range is really two tools. A torch with a small one is a single beam shape with a bit of adjustment either side of it.
High runs 1000 lumens to 299 metres for 2 hours. Medium gives 400 lumens to 198 metres for 5 hours. Low provides 100 lumens to 94 metres for 20 hours. Strobe matches full output for 2 hours.
Mode selection is a dial rather than a button sequence, with a single rear button handling power. You set the dial to the mode you want and the button simply turns it on, which means the torch always comes on at the setting you chose rather than wherever the last press left it.
Anodised aircraft grade aluminium, rated IP67 against both water and dust, with a magnetic base for hands free work on any steel surface. Power is a 2000 mAh 18650 lithium ion cell at 4.2 V. The torch weighs 227 grams and measures 158.6 millimetres long by 35 millimetres.
