Four in one products usually mean four compromises. The Assist Air gets away with it because the four things it does are the four things that go wrong with a vehicle at the side of a road, and because they all run from the same battery. A flat battery, a soft tyre, a dead phone and no light are the standard set, and normally you carry four separate items to cover them.
Assist Air jump starting
It delivers up to 1500 amps of peak current on 12 V. That covers petrol engines as large as 8 litres, and diesels to 4. That range takes in essentially every passenger car, bakkie and light commercial vehicle on the road, with headroom for a cold morning when the engine turns harder than usual.
Smart protection technology handles the safety side, guarding against reverse polarity and short circuits for spark free operation. That matters because jump starting is where inexperience does expensive damage, and a unit that refuses to do the wrong thing is worth considerably more than one that leaves it to your judgement. A printed three step guide is on the storage bag itself, which is the right place for it, since the instructions you need at the roadside are the ones that did not stay in the glovebox.
The air compressor
Pressure runs up to 120 PSI, which handles car and bakkie tyres comfortably and reaches the higher pressures light commercial and trailer tyres need. An air hose extension and an interchangeable nozzle set are supplied, so bicycles, sports balls and inflatables are covered as well.
A compressor is arguably the more used of the two main functions. Batteries go flat occasionally. Tyres lose pressure continuously, and checking them at home is a great deal easier than finding a working forecourt line.
Power bank and lighting
The 15,000 mAh 55.5 Wh lithium ion cell doubles as a USB power bank, charging phones and other devices, and it recharges itself over USB-C fast charging. Integrated lighting offers white, red and red SOS modes, which covers seeing what you are doing and being seen while you do it.
Why one battery for all four
The reason this works as a single device rather than as four things in a bag is that all four functions draw on the same 15,000 mAh cell. Nothing has its own battery to go flat separately, nothing needs checking individually, and one charge covers the lot. Four separate items means four things that might be dead when you reach for them.
Display
A colour LCD shows operating information, which on a device doing four different jobs is what keeps it usable. Tyre pressure, charge state and jump start status are things you want to read rather than infer from a pattern of flashing lights.

The unit weighs 1150 grams and measures 242 by 118 by 49 millimetres, so it lives under a seat or in a boot without taking a meaningful share of the space.
