Adaptive Light Beam Technology
The HF8R Work controls output and focus automatically, reading conditions and setting the beam to match. Look down at a component and it pulls back to a comfortable close range flood. Lift your head to check across a site and it opens up and reaches out.
The benefit is not only convenience. Automatic control means the lamp is not sitting at 1600 lumens illuminating a workbench 40 centimetres from your face, which is uncomfortable, wasteful and leaves you squinting. It also means full output arrives the instant you need distance, with no delay while you find the right button. Manual control stays available through the Digital Advanced Focus System whenever you want to override it.
Output ladder
Boost reaches 1600 lumens with a beam distance of up to 210 metres. Power runs 900 lumens to 200 metres for around 3.5 hours, Mid Power gives 300 lumens to 100 metres for around 10 hours, and Low Power provides 20 lumens to 25 metres for up to 90 hours. Stepless dimming lets you sit anywhere between those points.
Ninety hours on the low setting is the standout figure. For maintenance crews, night shift work and any operation where charging opportunities are unpredictable, that removes battery anxiety from the equation almost entirely.
Colour accuracy and red light
A CRI 80 light source provides accurate colour rendering, which matters for inspections, fault finding, component identification and any task where telling one colour from another carries consequences. A dedicated red front light preserves dark adaptation and provides discreet illumination when full white would be intrusive.
Bluetooth and app control
Bluetooth connectivity links the lamp to the Ledlenser Connect App for optional remote control and customisation. On a helmet mounted lamp this earns its place quickly, since reaching a switch above your head with gloves on is awkward and sometimes not possible at all. Custom lighting programmes can be configured to match how a particular job actually runs.
Memory Function returns to your last used mode, Backup Mode extends usable light as the battery falls, Temperature Control holds output steady through sustained high draw, and a Transportation Lock prevents accidental activation. A battery status indicator shows remaining capacity.
Mounting kit and construction
In the box you get a comfort pad, a wall mount, a Connect adapter and a kit for fixing the lamp to a helmet, covering hard hat mounting, headband wear, a fixed charging position in a van or workshop, and expansion through the Connect system.
The housing is aluminium alloy with reinforced front protection, an addition aimed squarely at construction environments where a lamp takes impacts rather than being handled carefully. Total weight is 198 grams. Charging runs through Magnetic USB-C in approximately 270 minutes, about four and a half hours. Sealing is IP68, dust tight and submersible, with 2 metre drop resistance and operation from -20°C to +40°C.
