Ledlenser HF6R Work Headlamp: a CRI 80 neutral white work light with 800 lumens and helmet mounting
An electrician tracing a loom in a dark riser needs to tell brown from black and blue from grey. Under the cold blue white light most headlamps produce, those distinctions compress toward one another and become genuinely difficult to call. Getting it wrong is not a minor inconvenience. This is the problem the HF6R Work is built to solve, and it is what separates it from the otherwise similar HF6R Core.
Neutral white and colour accuracy
The HF6R Work runs its LEDs at 4600 to 5400 K, a neutral white considerably closer to daylight than the cool blue tone standard on outdoor lamps, and achieves CRI 80 colour rendering. CRI measures how faithfully a light source reproduces colour against a reference, and the gap between a cheap light and a CRI 80 source is obvious the moment colour carries information.
For trades this is practical rather than aesthetic. Wire insulation colours stay separable. Fluid leaks read as the colour they actually are, so coolant and brake fluid on a workshop floor are distinguishable. Corrosion, scorching, staining and material grades all present accurately during inspection. Anyone who has misjudged a colour under bad site lighting understands why the specification is worth paying for.
Output and the Focus Wheel
Boost gives 800 lumens to 160 metres for short periods. The working ladder beneath it is well spaced: Power at 500 lumens to 140 metres for around 3 hours, Mid at 200 lumens to 80 metres for around 8 hours, and Low at 20 lumens to 25 metres for around 60 hours.
The Digital Advanced Focus System is driven by a Focus Wheel on the lamp head, moving the beam smoothly between wide flood for close detail and concentrated spot for distance. A fingertip roll is all it takes, which matters when your other hand is holding a tool or a component. The lamp head tilts steplessly through 45 degrees so the beam points down at what you are working on rather than across it.
A dedicated red front light provides discreet illumination and preserves dark adaptation when the situation calls for it.
Mounting for site work
The lamp comes with a helmet connecting kit and wall mounting options. Helmet mounting is what makes a headlamp usable on a regulated site, where a headband over a hard hat is not workable. A wall mount gives the lamp a fixed home in a workshop or van, so it stays charged and findable rather than flat in the bottom of a toolbox.
Power and runtime
An integrated rechargeable battery delivers up to 60 hours on Low Power and recharges through the Magnetic Charge System. Across a working week that means charging roughly once, not nightly.
Memory Function recalls preferred settings, Backup Mode provides emergency runtime as the battery depletes, a Transportation Lock prevents activation in a bag, and battery and charge indicators with a low battery warning give notice before you lose light mid task.
Built for the environment
Construction is aluminium alloy with an adjustable, washable headband, weighing 134 grams. Sealing is IP68, dust tight and submersible, which covers concrete dust, workshop grime and washing the lamp down at the end of a shift. Drop resistance is 2 metres and the operating range spans -20°C to +40°C.
For electricians, mechanics, plumbers, construction crews and maintenance teams, this is a headlamp specified for the actual conditions of the work.
