Ledlenser H19R Core Headlamp: 3500 lumens with Fusion Beam Technology and a removable battery pack
At 3500 lumens the H19R Core sits near the top of everything Ledlenser makes in a head mounted format. It is specified for search and rescue teams, professional operators and expedition users, and the design reflects that: two independently controlled light sources, a battery pack you can swap in the field, and an IP68 seal.
Fusion Beam Technology explained
Most headlamps ask you to choose between flood and spot. The H19R Core does not, because it carries two Xtreme high power LEDs behind separate lenses that adjust independently of one another.
That means you can run a wide flood across the ground in front of you while simultaneously throwing a focused spot out to 300 metres, and set the balance between the two yourself. In a search context this is a substantial practical advantage: you keep your footing lit while scanning distance, without constantly refocusing and without carrying a second light. For technical work at close quarters you can bias almost entirely to flood, then shift toward spot when the task changes.
Output levels and runtime
Boost reaches 3500 lumens and 300 metres in short bursts. Below that the ladder is well spaced for real work: Power gives 1600 lumens to 230 metres for around 4 hours, Mid Power gives 800 lumens to 150 metres for around 7 hours, and Low Power gives 200 lumens to 80 metres for up to 20 hours.
Worth noting is that Low Power here is 200 lumens, which on many headlamps would be close to maximum. Even the conservative setting on this lamp outperforms an entire class of lighting, which is what a 20 hour runtime figure at that brightness represents.
A removable battery pack
The H19R Core takes a removable 7.4V 4800 mAh Li-ion pack rated at 35.52 Wh, with its own energy status indicators. Because it lifts out, a spare pack means unlimited runtime on a long operation: swap and continue rather than stopping to charge.
Replaceability also determines how long the lamp lasts. Cells degrade over years of cycling, and on a sealed lamp that decline eventually ends the product's life. Here the pack is a consumable, so the lamp itself keeps going. Charging is handled by the Magnetic Charge System.
Controls, red light and beam placement
A three way front switch gives direct access to the lighting modes without memorising press sequences, which matters when the lamp is being operated under pressure or in gloves. A Memory Function recalls the last mode used. Backup Mode extends usable light as the battery falls low rather than leaving you suddenly dark, and a Transportation Lock prevents accidental activation in a pack or vehicle.
A dedicated red light mode preserves dark adapted vision for map reading, navigation and any situation where white light would compromise your night sight or give away a position. The lamp head tilts steplessly through 95 degrees for precise aiming.
Weight, materials and sealing
Total weight is 374 grams with the battery, dropping to 224 grams without, and the mass is distributed to stay balanced during extended wear. The head measures 68 mm across. Materials are an aluminium alloy tube, a polycarbonate head and PMMA optics.
Sealing is IP68, the highest rating in the range, covering dust tight protection and sustained immersion rather than temporary contact with water. Drop resistance is 1.5 metres and the operating range runs from -20°C to +40°C. The headband is adjustable and washable.
If your requirement is maximum hands free output with the durability and serviceability to match, this is the model that meets it.
