If you already own Ledlenser lighting that runs on 21700 cells, the Flex10 solves a problem you have probably worked around badly. Spare batteries usually travel loose in a pack pocket, where they collect grit, rattle against keys and occasionally short against something metal. There is normally no way to charge them except through the torch itself, and no way to know how much charge they are holding. The Flex10 addresses all three at once.
At its simplest the Flex10 is a 9000 mAh power bank, built from two 21700 Li-ion cells at 4500 mAh each, both included. It charges phones, tablets and anything else that takes USB, through either a USB-A port at 5V and 2.4A or a USB-C port at 5V and 3A, with combined output reaching 15W.
It doubles as a charging bay for Ledlenser 21700 cells, so the batteries that run your H7R, P7R or any other 21700 model can be topped up directly instead of tying up the lamp. Integrated charge level indicators show exactly where each cell sits, which removes the guesswork of carrying a spare you are not sure about.
Third, it is a protective case. Cells sit enclosed in the housing rather than rolling around in your kit, and a fast battery replacement system means swapping them out takes seconds. Double short-circuit protection guards against the failure mode that makes loose lithium cells genuinely risky.
USB-C handles both input and output, so a single modern cable covers charging the Flex10 and drawing power from it. A full charge takes approximately 4 hours. The supplied cable is typically USB-A to USB-C.
In the field this changes how you plan power for a multi day trip. Rather than rationing headlamp use and hoping the charge lasts, you carry the Flex10, swap a depleted cell for a fresh one when needed, and recharge the spent one while you walk. Your phone runs off the same reservoir.
The housing is polycarbonate and ABS, sealed to IP65, which keeps dust out and shrugs off low pressure water jets. That covers rain, a hose down and months of dusty vehicle storage. Dimensions are 120 mm long, 54 mm wide and 29 mm high, weighing about 235 grams with both batteries fitted, so it drops into a pack pocket or a toolbox without taking real space.
Because the cells are replaceable, the unit is not disposable when the batteries eventually age out. You fit new cells and carry on, which extends its service life and keeps a working device out of the waste stream.
For anyone invested in Ledlenser's 21700 range, this is the accessory that makes the whole system practical away from mains power.
