Reach comes from reflector size more than from raw output, and the Tyto carries a 145 millimetre reflector inside a 165 millimetre head. That is what takes 4000 lumens out to 805 metres rather than spreading it across the middle distance.
Power comes from the vehicle through a 3 metre straight 12 V cord, long enough to work from either side of a bakkie without moving it. There is no battery to charge and no runtime limit beyond the vehicle itself. The body is aluminium and ABS, weighs 680 grams and uses a single on and off switch. LED life is rated at 50,000 hours, and a drawstring bag and red filter lens are included.
