How to de-rust gas tanks:
Smaller gas tank de-rusting: Completely fill the tank with EVAPO-RUST® and allow to sit for 2 to 4 hours. Drain completely and rinse well with water. Air dry and fill with gasoline immediately to eliminate flash rust.
Larger gas tank de-rusting: Pour in 5 litres of EVAPO-RUST® and rotate gas tank every hour until the rust has been removed. Drain completely and rinse well with water. Air dry and fill with gasoline immediately to eliminate flash rust.
Safety / Technical Information
Always test on a small discreet area and use at 18 degrees centigrade or warmer
Ensure item is completely degreased and rinse well
Ensure the item is fully submerged in the solution to avoid etching around the tide line
Depending on the metal and the severity of the rust and the required level of de-rusting it can take anywhere from 12 hours up to as long as 1 week (or more) for the chemical reaction to finish
This product will not work if you brush it on. It needs to be submerged into the solution. For a brush on type, please see Evaporust gel.

NOT brushable; recommended application methods: Dip, Fill, Ultrasonic, Pressure Flushing, Spray, Wrap - Minimum recommended operative temperature: 15°C - Do not use on Cadmium, Magnesium and relative alloys - High carbon steel and tool alloy steel items, when derusted, will have a darker appearance; much of the carbon can be partially removed simply by wiping with a cloth - It is highly recommended to fully immerse the metal items, because some items not fully immersed for extended periods may experience etching at the water-line - Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination during handling, storage and disposal - Do not empty into drains - Keep out of the reach of children.
