CENTURION SECTOR BREAK AWAY COUPLER ASSEMBLY

The CENTURION SECTOR Breakaway Coupler Assembly functions by allowing the boom pole to swing away to the side in the event of vehicle impact, mitigating the potential damage to the pole. It is comprised of two main components: the main body, which attaches to the output shaft of the barrier, and the breakaway coupler sleeve, which is hinged to the main body.

The coupler sleeve is secured to the main body through a secure clipping mechanism; applying sideways force releases the coupler and enables the pole to swing to the side, away from the roadway and in the same direction as traffic flow. The coupler also includes a micro-switch that is triggered when the coupler is released, activating the emergency stop input on the controller to prevent the barrier from operating. Once the pole is swung to the side, it can easily be engaged for normal operation by pushing it back into the coupler.
