***

This is the BABY EAGLE, a miniature version of the EAGLE X / Dessert Eagle by Magnum Industries. In terms of size, it has a Sig Sauer P228 feel to it.

  • All metal design w/ polymer gripstocks
  • Slide mounted safety
  • Single Action Only
  • Minimal clearance between the handle base and the magazine floorplate
  • Has a Desert Eagle appearance, but just overall miniaturized for 9x22mm cal.
  • 16+1 shot double stack magazine capacity
  • Hammer Fired
  • The pistol upper is a two piece assembly, w/ a barrel shroud and the moving slide interlocking in 'L' formation.
  • Large, mostly flat trigger scallop
  • Upper appears triangular from the front

This pistol is a lovely replica of a Desert Eagle, if ever one were to be chambered in 9x19mm cal. The pistol is oif course, all-metal, has an interlocking slide that pairs w/ the breech and the barrel shroud. This upper has a triangular / TOBLERONE type appearance typical of a Desert Eagle. The cocking serrations on it are shallow, although nevertheless, features sharp edges. That coupled w/ the low-strength blowback spring, makes for a slide that racks quite easy. You can however, also use the fire selector lever to cock the pistol if so desired and this would perhaps, be the most natural way for most to rack the slide. The said lever does require a little effort to toggle, though in this case, it might be for the best, as you don't want to accidentally put the pistol on 'SAFE' after racking the slide - that might would prove to be extremely annoying, unndoubtedly.
The extractor is top / vertically mounted. It is a stiff spring-loaded appendage that would pull the brass casings out by the rim and likewise inside the chamber, to the left-rear, is the ejector pin, responsible for clearing out explete casings.

As mentioned, this pistol is hammer fired and the hammer does feature cross-serrations over its ridge and valley / basically, where the thumb would naturally incline to grapple the hammer.

This pistol likewise, features a set of polymer gripstocks, that are beefy and do ingress into the slide to permit for a broad cross-section, w/out adding extraneous width to the handle. There are mildly stippled panels on the gripstocks, both sides, that allows for a nicer hande on the pistol. The trigger guard is large, though just like you'd expect from the Desert Eagle. The trigger itself is also quite beefy and long, having a bit of a takeup applicable, likewise, having more or less the same length applicable as its reset length.

The handle does feature a lanyard loophole at its base behind the magazine floorplate, which is nifty.

The magazine itself in made of typical sheet steel, polymer magazine follower, polymer baseplate, polymer floorplate w/ the spring steel spring. Typical Turkish-made blank gun composition. The magazine body is likewise lightly coated w/ a layer of anti-corrosion protection, though with metal-on-metal contact, we've noticed that, before long, this does wear off.

The barrel-end has a female thread protector threaded on, presumably to encourage blowback and likewise, to protect the female threads inside that'd typically bbe utilized for a flare tip adapter.

Overall, the racking of the slide, the triangular barrel w/ shroud, the rail atop the barrel shroud (which is not Picatinny, btw) along with the trigger and trigger pull, does collectively lend to a fun shooting handling and shooting experience with this pistol.

This is basically a compact EAGLE X, likewise, half the price of that pistol and also, featuring a fire selector, allowing both semi- and full automatic firing.
