AJAX ELECTRIC FENCE KIT — SP158
Link your electric fence to the Ajax alarm system for instant alerts and remote control. The AJAX Electric Fence Kit (SP158) lets you integrate an electric-fence energizer into your Ajax security ecosystem so fence trips trigger immediate notifications in the Ajax app, local sirens and optional armed-response workflows. This kit is an easy way to add a critical detection layer to fence perimeter security and centralize control of energizer power through the Ajax app.
What this kit does
-
Alarm notifications via Ajax app — receive instant push alerts when your fence detects a fault or tampering.
-
Remote on/off control of energizer — switch your energizer remotely through the Ajax system when required (uses Ajax relay in bistable mode and optional SW426 for switched control).
-
Local siren activation — the Ajax hub and connected sirens can sound on fence alarm events to deter intruders on site.
Typical kit contents
- Ajax Relay (Relay Jeweler) — remote, dry-contact switching for energizer control.
- Ajax Door Protect (or equivalent detector) used as a contact for alarm signaling.
- 12 V single-pole relay board / single pole relay (for isolating energizer circuits) — wiring diagram included.
- Short comms / ripcord cable and IP55-rated enclosure (where supplied) for neat mounting.
- Wiring diagram & integration instructions (reference: SP158 wiring guide).
Key features & benefits
-
Third-party energizer compatibility — Relay Jeweler uses potential-free (dry) contacts so it can switch low-voltage energizers safely without interfering with the energizer power circuit.
-
Flexible configuration — relay can operate in pulse or bistable modes depending on whether you want momentary triggers or maintained on/off control.
-
Clear wiring guidance — SP158 wiring documentation shows the recommended connections between the energizer, single-pole relay board and Ajax relay for reliable operation and alarm signaling.
-
Siren & app integration — when the fence trips, the Ajax system can both notify users via the app and trigger local sirens for on-site deterrence.
-
Professional installer friendly — the kit is intended for qualified installers and electricians to ensure safe isolation and correct wiring to the energizer.
Technical notes (installer)
- Ajax Relay (Relay Jeweler) supports 7–24 V⎓ power supplies and provides potential-free contacts for safe external switching. Ensure relay power supply and wiring meet device specs.
- The SP158 wiring guide shows use of a single-pole 12 V relay board (MC420W / Single Pole) and SW37 interfaces to correctly sense fence alarm states and trigger Ajax inputs. Always follow the diagram supplied.
- If remote switching (on/off via app) is required, set the Ajax Relay to bistable mode and include the SW426 switch module as specified in the wiring doc.
- Only use a qualified electrician/installer for energizer wiring and earthing — energizers can be hazardous if not isolated correctly.
Use cases
-
Perimeter protection: integrate electric fencing so fence breaches trigger immediate notifications and sirens.
-
Remote site control: turn energizers on or off remotely from the Ajax app when contractors or authorized personnel need temporary access.
-
Layered security: combine fence monitoring with Ajax motion, door and CCTV systems for fuller situational awareness and response automation.
What's included & ordering
The SP158 kit is sold as a special-order kit through Regal and selected resellers — final kit composition may vary by supplier (for example, some bundles include an IP55 enclosure and short comms cable). Please enquire for pricing and exact contents before purchase.
Quick installer checklist
- Confirm energizer model and verify voltage/current compatibility with the relay wiring arrangement.
- Follow SP158 wiring diagram step-by-step (see attachments) when wiring the single-pole relay and Ajax Relay.
- Set Ajax Relay to required mode (pulse/bistable) depending on whether you want momentary alarm signals or remote on/off control.
- Test alarm notifications in the Ajax app and on-site siren activation before handing the system back to the customer.
