Securi-Prod covers the components that every alarm, gate and CCTV installation consumes: batteries, power supplies, junction boxes, beams and call points. None of it is glamorous and all of it is necessary, which is why this collection is worth browsing before starting a job rather than halfway through one. NeonSales carries 29 Securi-Prod products, from R49 for a CR123A cell up to R1,645 for a 12V 20Ah lithium battery.
In South African conditions the maths often favours lithium despite the up-front cost, simply because a battery that survives four years of daily cycling is cheaper than three lead acid replacements. On a system that rarely loses power, lead acid remains the sensible choice.
The stainless steel armoured loop protects the cable where it crosses a moving joint, typically at a gate hinge or a swing gate leaf. Unprotected cable at that point flexes on every cycle and eventually fractures internally, which produces intermittent faults that are difficult to trace because the cable looks fine from outside. Fitting a loop at installation costs a fraction of chasing that fault later.
Cable joins exposed to weather corrode, and a corroded joint on a CCTV or beam run causes exactly the intermittent behaviour that gets blamed on the equipment. The two sizes stocked here cover most camera and beam terminations. Use them at every outdoor join.
Which battery does my alarm panel need? Most residential panels use 12V 7Ah. The smaller 1.3Ah and 3.0Ah sizes suit auxiliary devices rather than main panel backup.
What is a call point for? A manually operated trigger, typically for emergency exit release or alarm activation. The resettable version can be reset rather than replaced after use.
Dual beams or single? Dual beam units require both beams to be broken before triggering, which dramatically reduces false alarms from birds, leaves and small animals.
Can I mix battery chemistries? No. Chargers are designed for a specific chemistry, and charging LiFePO4 on a lead acid charger, or the reverse, damages the battery.
