Glary Rifle Cases, Bags and Handgun Cases in South Africa

Glary covers transport and storage across the whole price spread, from a soft bag that keeps dust off a rifle to a hard tactical case built to survive being loaded into a bakkie. The range is organised by length and by how much protection you actually need, which is the only decision that matters here. NeonSales carries 31 Glary products, from R295 for a single handgun case up to R3,465 for a 46 inch tactical rifle case.

Soft bag or hard case?

Type Protection Best suited to
Soft rifle bag Dust, scratches and light knocks Range trips by car, storage at home, keeping costs down
Tactical AR case 36" Structured, impact resistant Shorter platforms and carbines, easier to handle than a full-length case
Tactical rifle case 46" / 52" Full hard-sided protection Longer rifles, travel, anything loaded with other gear
Delux storage case Bulk storage, wheeled option Multiple firearms or a full kit, where weight makes wheels worth it

Measure before you order

Case length is the most common ordering error, and the fix is simple. Measure your rifle from the muzzle to the rear of the buttstock, with any moderator fitted and the stock at the length you actually use it. Then add a few centimetres, because internal foam takes up space that the external dimension does not tell you about. A 36 inch case suits most carbines and AR platforms. A 46 inch case covers standard hunting rifles. 52 inch is for longer barrels, scoped rifles with bipods, or where you want room for accessories alongside.

Colour is not only cosmetic

Black is the default and the most discreet. Tan, grey and olive drab cost the same and some buyers prefer them, though a plain black case draws less attention in a vehicle or a car park than something that looks obviously tactical. Worth a thought if the case spends time visible in a bakkie.

Common questions

Will a 46 inch case fit a rifle with a scope? Usually yes, though scope height and bipod attachment eat internal space. If your rifle carries a large objective or a mounted bipod, the 52 inch gives you room without forcing anything.

Are the wheels worth it? On the Delux storage case, yes, if you are moving multiple firearms or a full kit. A loaded storage case is heavy, and wheels are the difference between one trip and two.

Do these cases lock? Check the individual listing, since lockability varies across the range. If secure transport is the requirement, confirm before ordering rather than assuming.

Soft bag for a long trip? Fine for a short drive to the range. For flying, rough roads or anything stacked on top, a hard case is the sensible spend.
