What passive retention means

There is no strap, no thumb break and no button. The holster is moulded to grip the pistol at a specific point, usually the trigger guard, tightly enough that it stays put when inverted and releases with a straight draw. The advantage is speed, since there is nothing to unfasten. The trade-off is that it offers less security than an active retention holster in a struggle, which is why duty holsters often use a lock instead.

Fit is model-specific

Both of these are cut for CZ pattern pistols, and the 75-D and Duty are different mouldings rather than one holster covering both. Check the exact model of your pistol against the listing. A holster moulded for a similar pistol will either not seat or will not retain properly.

Common questions

Will it fit with a light attached? No. These are moulded for the bare pistol. A rail-mounted light needs a light-bearing holster.

Can the retention be adjusted? Passive retention is set by the moulding. Some Fobus models include a tension screw, so check the individual listing.

Left or right hand? Holsters are hand-specific. Confirm the hand in the listing before ordering.
