ET Systems Gate Motors, Garage Motors and Remotes in South Africa

ET is one of the most widely installed gate automation brands in South Africa, which matters more than specification when something fails on a Sunday afternoon. Spares are stocked locally, most installers know the boards, and remotes are easy to replace. Products in this range appear under both ET and Nice branding, sometimes together as ET Nice, since the two operate as one group. NeonSales carries 185 products, from R20 for a remote battery up to R9,417 for a Wingo hi-speed swing gate kit.

What ET products does NeonSales stock?

  • Swing gate motors: Wingo hi-speed kits in single and double configurations

  • Remotes: 434MHz in 1, 2, 4 and 6 button, plus Nice TX1 and TX4 learning remotes

  • Spares: PC boards with and without housings, sprockets, racks, remote batteries

Which ET Drive suits your gate?

Model Suited to Notes
Drive 300 Lighter residential sliding gates The value option where gate weight is modest
Drive 500 Standard residential sliding gates The most commonly installed size, widest spares availability
Drive 600 Heavier or longer gates Shares the power supply platform with the 500
Wingo Swing gates rather than sliding Hi-speed operation, available single or double leaf

Nylon or steel rack?

Nylon racks are quieter, cheaper and entirely adequate for a normal residential gate. Steel racks cost more and handle heavier gates and higher cycle counts, which is why they turn up on complexes and commercial sites where the gate may run fifty times a day. For a household gate opening a handful of times daily, nylon is usually the sensible choice.

What else does an installation need?

A motor kit alone is rarely the whole job. Infrared safety beams stop the gate closing on a vehicle or a person and should be treated as essential rather than optional. A battery keeps the gate working through loadshedding, which in South Africa is the single most common reason a customer calls about a gate that has stopped. Additional remotes are worth buying at the same time, since matching frequency and coding later is more effort than it sounds.

Common questions

Will an ET remote work with my existing motor? Check the frequency first, since most of this range is 434MHz. Learning remotes such as the Nice TX1 and TX4 copy from an existing working remote, so keep the original until the new one is confirmed working.

Can I replace just the board? Yes, and it is often the economical repair. Boards are available on their own or in a housing, and a failed board is a far more common fault than a failed motor.

How long does the battery last during loadshedding? That depends on gate weight and how often it cycles. A healthy 24V battery will typically carry a residential gate through a standard loadshedding block, though batteries degrade and are worth testing rather than trusting.
