DonnyFL Airgun Moderators and Adapters in South Africa

DonnyFL is an American maker specialising in airgun moderators, and it has a strong following among PCP shooters for suppression quality and for supporting a wide range of platforms with dedicated adapters. NeonSales carries 4 DonnyFL products, from R699 for an adapter up to R3,890 for a Fatboy 2.0 kit.

What DonnyFL products does NeonSales stock?

• Fatboy 2.0 silencer box kit: covering .177, .22 and .30
• Leviathan: supplied with Origin extender and 1/2 inch UNF male thread
• Adapters: silencer adapter for the Crosman 2240, and a 1/2 x 20 adapter for the Seneca Eagle Claw

The adapter is the part that decides whether it fits

An airgun moderator is only useful if it threads onto your barrel, and airgun threads are not standardised the way firearm threads are. Different manufacturers use different patterns, and some models have no thread at all from the factory. That is why DonnyFL sells platform-specific adapters, such as the Crosman 2240 and Seneca Eagle Claw units stocked here, rather than expecting one thread to fit everything.

Before ordering, identify what thread your barrel carries, or whether it needs an adapter at all. A moderator and an adapter that do not match are equally useless, and the thread is not implied by the calibre.

Why a calibre-spanning kit

The Fatboy 2.0 kit covers .177, .22 and .30, which means one moderator body can follow you across rifles rather than needing a separate unit per calibre. As with any moderator, a bore larger than the projectile works while giving up some efficiency compared with a matched unit. Going the other way, using a smaller bore than the projectile, is not an option.

Common questions

Will this fit my PCP? Check the thread on the barrel first. If your rifle is not one of the platforms with a dedicated adapter here, you may need a different adapter than the ones stocked.

Does a moderator affect accuracy? A well-fitted one generally does not, and some shooters find it helps by reducing muzzle disturbance. A poorly aligned or loose fitment will affect point of impact, which is another reason the adapter matters.

What does the Origin extender do? It adds length to the moderator body, which generally improves suppression at the cost of a longer overall package.

What are the legal requirements? These vary by product category and by circumstance. Confirm your own position before ordering rather than relying on general guidance.
