These are BB guns, not pellet rifles

Worth being clear about, since it determines what ammunition you buy. The Red Ryder and Buck have smooth bores designed for round 4.5mm steel BBs. Diabolo pellets will not stabilise properly in them. Daisy does stock pellets, in .177 mixed and .22 hollowpoint, and those are for rifled pellet guns rather than for these BB rifles. Check which your gun takes before buying in bulk.

Where Daisy fits

Power levels here are modest by design, which is the point rather than a shortcoming. These are for learning safe handling, plinking at cans and target practice in a garden, not for pest control or field use. If you want energy on target, the PCP and springer ranges are where to look. If you want something a beginner can shoot safely and enjoy, this is it.

Common questions

How many BBs does a Red Ryder hold? It uses a gravity-fed magazine holding several hundred, which is part of the appeal, since you load once and shoot for a long time.

What is the 008 rotary clip for? It is a replacement pellet clip for the CO2 pistols that use one. Check your model before ordering.

Do the CO2 pistols come with gas? The Model 426 combo includes what you need to start. Standalone pistols do not, so buy 12g CO2 powerlets alongside.

What ammunition does the slingshot take? Quarter inch steel shot, stocked here in 60 packs. Standard 4.5mm BBs are too light to be effective.
