Output is not the same as reach

Lumens measure total light produced, not how far the beam travels. A tightly focused light will out-throw a brighter one with a wide beam every time. Spotlights are built for throw, which is why a 4000 lumen Cyclops reaches considerably further than a 4000 lumen area light would. When comparing across brands, look at beam distance rather than lumens alone.

Runtime falls as output rises

A 10000 lumen light draws several times the current of a 1600 lumen one, so battery life at maximum is correspondingly shorter.
