Why Universal Oil is the one people buy

Most gun care ranges make you buy a solvent, a lubricant and a protectant separately. Ballistol Universal Oil does all three adequately, which for routine maintenance is enough. It is also alkaline rather than acidic, so it neutralises the residue left by corrosive ammunition, and it will not damage wood stocks or leather slings the way some petroleum products do. Buy the deep barrel cleaner separately when you actually need it.

Jet or fog on the pepper spray?

Jet fires a narrow directed stream, carries further and resists wind drift, though it demands better aim. Fog produces a wide cloud that is easier to place on target at close range, at the cost of range and a real risk of blowback in wind or confined spaces. Sizes run from a 15ml keyring unit to a 100ml canister for a vehicle or home.

Aerosol or liquid? Aerosol reaches into actions and mechanisms that a cloth cannot. Liquid gives you control over how much goes where, and suits wiping down or applying to a specific point. Many people keep both.

Is it safe on a wooden stock? Yes, and that is one of its distinguishing features. It will not lift or damage oil-finished wood the way harsher solvents can.

What is the silencer cleaner for? Removing carbon buildup from suppressor baffles and modules, which routine gun oil will not shift.
