Understanding the joule ratings on T4E

T4E products are rated in joules, and the number tells you the energy delivered. The HDR50 and HDP50 sit at 11J, the TP50 and TR50 Gen2 at 13J, and the HDR68 at 16J. Higher energy means more effect on impact and, correspondingly, more consideration about where and how it is used. The .68 calibre HDR68 is the largest projectile in the range and the highest rated.

Buy magazines and CO2 with the launcher

A T4E revolver with one magazine is a slow proposition, since reloading is the main interruption. HDR50 magazines are stocked singly and in two packs, and the two pack is the sensible purchase. The 88g threaded CO2 cartridges are what the larger launchers run on, and they are consumed considerably faster than 12g powerlets.

Are the Glock models actually licensed? Yes. Umarex holds manufacturer licences, which is why the markings, dimensions and controls match the firearm. That is what makes them useful for familiarisation.

What is the difference between Gen 3 and Gen 5? They mirror the corresponding generations of the firearm, principally in frame texturing and controls. Gen 5 sits at the top of the range on price.

BB or pellet? Check the individual listing. Steel BBs suit smoothbore replicas and are cheaper. Pellets are more accurate and need a rifled barrel.
