This laser does create a beam of light, during day-time it is just not as visible. The battery charge level will also affect the strength and the laser's intensity.

The focus on the laser can also be adjusted as illustrated.

You are supplied w/ a set of plastic red glasses as well, for protecting yourself from getting arc eyes.. Or laser beam eyes, as it were..
