100ml perfectly clear silicone oil, prepacked in a transparent jar w/ orange thread-on lid.
Being solvent-free, this product is completely non-flammable, features excellent heat-transfer properties (for keeping your PCP handpump shaft lubricated with!) and is one of the best options to use for O-ring care and to keep your O-rings supple. Also just bear in mind that, w/out lubrication, your O-rings cannot create an airtight seal / mould properly against the applicable gas chamber. Not only this, but to ensure on moving parts such as pistons, that your O-rings slip friction-free back and forth on the shaft and compress air w/ minimal wear, this will be your go-to. This will also avoid your O-rings from heating up and expanding and as a result, experience aggrevated friction.
Q: But why not just use Silicone aerosol spray?
A: Whilst silicone spray is widely available and easy to work with, especially w/ the supplied nozzle, Silicone spray contains propane which in most cases, is a petroleum derivative. This is corrosive to plastic, rubber and without saying, nitrile. We do not recommend using silicone spray, not even for metal-on-metal friction protection - there are beter applicators for that purpose.
Q: How much should I use per application?
A: Per application of O-ring, we do not recommend a liberal application, just a few drops. We recommend removing the O-ring completely out of the groove w/ a rounded pick, wiping it off clean, removing all CO2 residue if applicable / metal filings, drying it off w/ a clean cloth, before coating the O-ring.
