Long range laser kit, supplied w/ mini carry case w/ a profile-cut foam insert on the one side and a sheet of eggtray foam on the other, medium density. The case is nifty as it makes for a good commuting tool or as a pack insert, when you're off to go star gazing with friends in the rurals, for example.
This laser pointer is very helpful as an outdoor pointer tool, for example, if the shooter can't see what the spotter is indicating, then this will certainly assist in target acquisition, assuming the quarry won't be spooked or otherwise be alarmed by a bright blue laser dot.
At night, this module produces a beam of blue light, effective up to 400 meters away, though will most certainly give your position away if you aren't behind a wall or such.
The module here uses 2x CR123 batteries which come included, though we do recommend replacing them with more proper batteries, such as the NITECORE CR123's, with an i2 smart charger. The batteries and charger included are basic and functional, though we cannot guarentee their lifespan whatsoever. We also do not guarentee these batteries against leaking or the damage caused thereby. Use entirely at your own risk.
The set of red lense glasses included do dim down the brightness of the blue dot, though we nevertheless recommend avoiding visual exposure atothe dot at under 30 meters w/out wearing the supplied glasses.
Please also bear in mind that, when the batteries are fully charged, that the laser can and will burn through paper and likewise, can cut through an A4 sheet. It can be used to light a cigarette, a mosquito coil with some effort, though do not use a magnifying glass to concentrate the laser's beam, as that can be very hazardous.
Furthermore, it can pop a balloon, ignite a match stick, melt low density polymers with some effort and it can be used to zap mosquitoes, though this might need repeated attempts, as mosquitoes quickly shift flight path when zapped by this laser.
We haven't tested to see if this can melt soldering wire or brazing flux yet, though that might be a bit too much for this laser.
Otherwise, a very nifty gadget to play with - and does wonders for chasing away resident monkeys without needing to shoot paintballs at them. Fun to use during DIWALI as well and alot of people are fascinated by a laser show - does bring something different to the plate.
